How Procera AVH Ingredients Work

Procera AVH ingredients are naturally sourced and have been selected to work synergistically to help improve brain function three ways:

  • Vinpocetine – oxygenates brain cells (derived from the periwinkle flower )
  • Huperzine A – restores depleted neurotransmitters with vital nutrients (derived from Chinese club moss)
  • Acetyl-l-carnitine – protects brain cells from free radicals caused by stress and toxins (derived from fish)

According to the maker’s website, this product was developed over a period of 20 years by a team of doctors and neuro-cognitive scientists at Brain Research Labs. Then it was tested at the Brain Sciences Institute in Australia, considered one of the leading clinical trial sites in the world. These clinical studies showed Procera AVH can improve memory, increase mental clarity and energy, elevate mood, and increase general intelligence.

Hi Cynthia, In researching Procera AVH ingredients, we found that they are all FDA approved and have been clinically studied and proven to be safe and effective. There are no known negative side effects, other than if you don’t take it with meals as recommended some people get mild digestive upset. You can read more at our post “Procera AVH Side Effects? What You Should Know”. Click on Procera AVH in the gray tool bar across the top and you’ll have access to all our other posts about Procera.

    Are there any side effects?

Hi Pam, I’m glad you stopped by my site. That’s shows you are wisely doing some “due diligence” before you buy – always a good idea! While Procera has been very helpful for many people, there is no way to know for sure before you try it whether it will be the answer you are looking for. No supplement or medication has ever worked 100% on everyone – unfortunately. Life would be a lot simpler if that was the case! (sigh)
It sounds like you would be an excellent candidate from the description of your symptoms. The fact that you are relatively young is in your favor, too.

Most find that they actually sleep better when taking Procera. But I would recommend your take it earlier in the day, say at breakfast and lunch, just in case.

    Hi Deane,
I saw an infomerical this past week end on Procera AVH ths past week end. I must admit I was VERY excited to find a supplement that could help my “brain power”. All of the symtoms it says it treats sounds like it was made for me. I am 56 years old and suffer from memory loss, brain fog, focus problems. It almost sounds too good to be true. I was wondering however, if it truly could be for me? Also, does it interfere with your sleep and keep your brain “going 90 to nothing”, when trying to fall asleep. At times, I can’t seem to shut my brain down to get to sleep….so much so, that my doctor has proscribed a sleep medication for me.

    Thanks,
    Pam

Hi Marian, Frankly, if you are in college and don’t have any particular memory problem besides day dreaming I doubt you need to take a brain supplement. Maybe a cup of coffee before your classes or studying will do the trick. But if you genuinely feel you have memory problems, you might want to give this a try. Everyone is different, of course, but many people report their thinking is clearer within a few weeks but for some people it takes a month or more. It won’t harm you – it’s not a drug but nutritional supplement, unless you have one of the disorders it is contraindicated for such as bipolar, seizures, etc. It is recommended to be taken twice a day. No, you won’t get worse if you stop taking it.

  6. marian says:

so im in college and i day dream alot and this sounds like a good idea but i want to know how long do i have to take it for for my brain to improve? if i stop it, will i get worse then before or just the same? will it harm me in any way? how many times a day do i take it for and for how long?

Hi Donovan, While most people think of using a memory supplement for the elderly, this is a problem many younger people have – even kids! A product like Procera could well help you – I suggest you read this post – Brain Boosters – Not Just for the Elderly and some of my other posts on how important a healthy lifestyle is, too.

Donovan, you are not silly at all. You are very wise to look for answers to your memory problems now while you are young while your brain is most resilient. If you do the right things now, it should be easier for you to reverse this trend, then when you get old like me. :)

I don’t know if you are a college student, but there have been some testimonials for Procera from mom’s who have used it on their kids and their grades shot up.

  8. Donovan Markstahler says:

Hi. I am just now learning about procera and trying to get as much information as I can. I have some memory problems (not diagnosed) and I have problems with my focus. I’m only 19 and feel it somewhat silly to think of things like this. But would you recommend this product for someone like me?

  9. Deane says:

Hi Melinda, I would think Procera could work very well in a case like this. One active ingredient, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, has been proven to help prevent Alzheimer’s disease by protecting brain cells from toxins and oxygen deprivation. A British study showed that ALC improved overall mental functioning and increased memory in people with early Alzheimer’s. Another ingredient, Chinese Club Moss, has been shown to help with memory and Alzheimer’s. It has an active ingredient very similar to the popular Alzheimer’s drug, Aricept. You can read more at Can Brain Supplements Prevent Alzheimer’s? It’s wonderful you are concerned and want to help your grandmother. Treating Alzhemier’s early might slow down it’s progress.

  10. Me Me says:

Is this medicine good for someone with a slight progressing case of alzihemiers? My grandma is starting to forget things and want to get this for her she is a completely healthy women who can cook for herslef give herself a bath and remember where we live and walk there it’s just she is forgeting names and goes back to events in her life in the past from time to time. Is there a way i can provide this pill to her and would it work

  11. Deane says:

Hi Patrick, Procera’s official stance is that you should talk to your doctor if you have epilepsy. A copy of the label can be found here – Procera ingredients. You can print it out and show it to him to see if he’ll give his stamp of approval. I hope it works out for you.

  12. patrick says:

I am taking Phenytec for my seizure disorder. Do you think its ok for me to take Procera avh.

  13. Deane says:

Hi Nichelle, I’ve done some research on the 3 ingredients in Procera AVH on if they can help Alzheimer’s. Here’s a summary of what I’ve found. Acetyl-L-Carnitine (ALC) has been shown to help prevent Alzheimer’s disease. It protects brain cells from toxins and oxygen deprivation. A British study showed that ALC improved overall mental functioning and increased memory in people with early Alzheimer’s. Chinese Club Moss has been shown to help with memory and Alzheimer’s. It has an active ingredient very similar to the popular Alzheimer’s drug, Aricept. Some studies have shown that Vinpocetine helps reduce the effects of Alzheimer’s by optimizing the brain’s use of oxygen.
I admit I have not researched specific studies for how it might help dementia but that is clearly something I need to do, and will. So excuse my partial answer until I can get to it. I didn’t want you to wait to hear back from me – it’s important to me to answer my readers promptly! :)

Meanwhile, you can read more at this post Can Brain Supplements Prevent Alzheimer’s?

  14. Nichelle says:

has there been any evidence of this medicine helping with dementia or Alzheimer’s ???

  15. Deane says:

Hi Stephanie, I’ve eliminated your email address from your comment for your own protection! Unfortunately, as any website owner will attest, there are plenty of unscrupulous people who troll sites looking for emails so they can spam your email. If you feel the need to talk to others before making a decision, I suggest you ask these questions on a site like Yahoo answers.
On this site, you can look at the rotating banner in gray to see real user comments I found on third party sites, like Amazon.
My answer to your question would be – yes, it works very well for most people, but it does not work to the same degree for everyone – just like any supplement or prescription medication. There is only one way you will know if it works for you, regardless of what others say, is to try it. Fortunately, it is guaranteed for 90 day, which is long enough to figure out how helpful it will be for you.

  16. Stephanie says:

Does this brain supplement really work? Will it stabilize my mental focus? Has anyone who joined this website use this supplement and it actually worked?
    Thank you

  17. Deane says:

    Hi again, Gwen!
I just published a post this morning that should be of interest ~ Brain Boosters. It discusses the ingredients in Procera that have been studied for helping kids with ADD. I have read of people successfully using this for ADD with their kids, also.
Here’s a quote I found on a third party site (Amazon) that might resonate with you – “My son has ADHD and is in high school. He has always had trouble focusing and can be quite forgetful at times. He started taking Procera and it actually helped him in the classroom to retain more of his lessons. His grades shot up from C’s and D’s to A’s and B’s. He also seems to be happier and far less frustrated. I am only speaking from my own personal experience. I know that there is no mention of this product helping ADHD, but I have informed Procera of the benefits.”
I hope this information helps you make a decision. Your family is lucky to have a great mom like you who is looking for drug-free answers to their problems!

Has anything been researched on this product and children and adults with Add/adhd? 4 out of 5 in my home including my husband and I have been diagnosed. We all take a variety of supplements and have managed the kids issues naturAlly, but as they are getting older I feel they need something stronger. They are currently on sea buddies product called Concentrate. I take Vyvanse. I would love to think that this could be a wonderful alternative to managing our symptoms.

  19. Deane says:

Hi George, In all my research on brain supplements, I’ve never seen any indication that any the three ingredients in Procera (Vinpocetine, Husperzine A, Acetyl-l-carnitine) are not advised for diabetics. Just to confirm, before I answered your question, I checked on WebMD.com and Drugs.com but again found no contraindications with diabetes or any diabetic medications.
I always recommend to anyone unsure if Procera will interact with their medications to show their doctor the list of ingredients (see Procera AVH Ingredients) just to be on the safe side.
Thanks for stopping by – and on Christmas, no less!

  20. george cuva says:

is this safe for a diabetic? I ask this because you increase oxygen and (glucose) to the brain!

  21. editor says:

    Hi Kim,
I’m sorry to hear about your daughter’s car accident and the frustration you must have about the medications not helping.
I’ve heard of people using Procera with their kids with no ill effects, and at 18 she really would be considered an adult, so she is not too young to take it.
Most memory enhancement drugs work by increasing levels of acetylcholine, but that doesn’t seem to have helped your daughter. Procera works by different mechanisms – increasing oxygen and glucose to the brain and destroying free radicals. It really is more of a nutritional supplement for the brain to help it heal itself and work optimally.
Of course there is no way I can state it will help your daughter for sure, but it seems like it would be worth a try. It won’t work overnight like magic, expect it to take some time to help her brain normalize. And unlike medications, if it doesn’t help you can always get your money back.
A quick caveat, if she is taking any other medication, show your doctor the label to make sure it won’t react with anything she is already on.
I hope this helped you decide. I wish you and your daughter the best of luck. You are a wonderful mom to keep searching for answers that the doctors can’t provide!

  22. Kim says:

My 18 year old daughter suffered some short term memory loss from a car accident last January. Her neurologist has tried many different types of medications but nothing seems to work. Do you think this may be helpful to her and if so, is she too young to take it?

  23. editor says:

Hi Byron, That is an excellent question! My experience with taking supplements to address a health concern is that you need to take it regularly and at full dosage initially to “jump start” the healing process and bring you back to normal. Often after you retain equilibrium, you can taper off, especially if you are making other healthy lifestyle changes.

When you make your first purchase of Procera, you’ll also get 20/20 BrainPower ebook, which outlines a step-by-step, 20 day program to achieve maximum brainpower. (You can learn more about it here – Procera AVH Reviews – What Medical Professionals Say.) This should help maximize your brain function even faster!

Obviously, everyone is different. But I feel it’s definitely possible that you won’t have to take this product forever.
Oh, and if you decide to try Procera, don’t forget to request the free report – 7 Ways to Maximize Your Results with Procera AVH . It contains the best memory enhancement tips we found while researching this product.

  24. Byron says:

Is there any information out there about how people do if or when they stop using procera or use it itermintently? Do you revert back to how you were before or worse? I would like to try this product but don’t want to feel like I have to take it the rest of my life just to stay sharp.

  25. editor says:

Hi Claudia, According to information on the official Procera site, it is recommended you talk to your doctor if you are taking blood thinners. Since both the medications you mention are blood thinners, I highly recommend you talk to your doctor first. That doesn’t mean you can’t t take Procera, just that your doctor should be aware of it and monitor your situation. I hope that helps, and thanks for stopping by.

  26. Claudia Lenis says:

Do you know if Proceraa intercts with coumadin or warfarin?

  27. editor says:

Hi Debbie, If you look half down this page, you’ll see a gray box. Here you’ll see comments I found from real users on third party sites. The comments rotate, so you have to wait a few seconds to see each one. I hope this is the kind of thing you are looking for.
You might also be interested in what some doctors have to say about it here – Procera AVH Reviews – What Medical Professionals Have to Say.

  28. Debbie says:

I haven’t been able to find any comments from people who are using Procera AVH.

  29. editor says:

Hi June, It is specifically advised with Procera AVH to talk to your doctor if you’re taking MAO inhibitors or anti-psychotic medications. I’m not surely exactly what you are taking, but I would always recommend anyone who is on several medications to talk to their doctor to make sure there are no likely negative interactions.

I’d suggest you read the post on cholesterol lowering drugs and how they can cause memory loss problems – Improve Memory – Stop Taking Cholesterol Drugs. Sometimes changing one’s medication can help a lot.

  30. June Pritchett says:

I am intrigued by your product as I have been experiencing many of these symptoms. My concern is any adverse reaction with other prescription medications I am currently taking.

I take an antidepressant, meds for heart health, high cholesteral and high blood pressure. Any info you can provide would be a great help.

    thanks, June Pritchett
